Description
What it is
Miro AI is the set of AI features built into Miro, the online whiteboard and collaboration platform. It is not a separate app. AI works directly on the canvas, where a team's sticky notes, diagrams, docs, tables and prototypes become context for generating and summarising content. In 2026 it has three parts: on-canvas generation, AI agents called Sidekicks, and visual AI workflows called Flows.
Key features
- Generation and synthesis: create diagrams, tables, docs and summaries from a prompt or from selected board content, and cluster sticky notes from a brainstorm or a set of research notes.
- Sidekicks: AI agents that ask clarifying questions, help turn a goal into a plan, and build out boards with frames, timelines, kanbans and diagrams. Miro says they can pull context from connected tools such as Slack and Jira and act in them.
- Flows (AI workflows): multi-step AI workflows that you lay out on the canvas, so a team can see, share and reuse them as templates.
- Prototypes: generate interactive prototypes from screenshots, HTML, code, prompts or board content. Miro acquired the AI design tool Uizard in 2024.
- MCP server: lets outside AI tools read and write Miro boards. Miro names clients including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot and Lovable, with uses such as turning board content into code or drawing Mermaid diagrams on the canvas.
- Controls: admins can choose which AI features are switched on and track usage. Miro lists automatic sensitive-content blocking, data residency in four regions and ISO 42001 certification for its AI.
Who it's for
Product, design, engineering and operations teams that already run workshops, retrospectives, planning and research synthesis in Miro and want AI to do first drafts and follow-up on the same board.
Pricing
AI use is metered in credits that are pooled across an organisation and reset monthly. As listed on Miro's pricing page in October 2026 (annual billing; monthly billing costs more, and Miro says annual saves 20%):
- Free: $0. 3 editable boards, 10 AI credits per month, 100 MCP calls per day, and a limited trial of AI workflows and agents.
- Starter: $8 per member per month. Unlimited private boards, 25 AI credits per member per month, 500 MCP calls per day.
- Business: $20 per member per month. 50 AI credits per member per month, full AI workflows and agents, interactive prototypes, SSO and 2,000 MCP calls per day.
- Enterprise: custom pricing from 30 members, starting at 2,500 pooled AI credits per month, 10,000 MCP calls per day and admin controls for AI.
Paid plans can buy additional credit packages.
