Description

Ada is a symptom assessment app for the public, built by Ada Health and optimised by clinicians. You start an assessment for yourself or a relative, describe what is bothering you, and Ada asks a series of follow-up questions, much as a doctor would in a consultation. It then compares your answers against its medical knowledge of thousands of conditions and produces a personalised report listing possible causes of the symptoms and the appropriate level of care, from managing at home to seeing a doctor or seeking urgent help.

Reports are saved in the app and can be exported to share with a doctor. The assessment engine, Ada Assess, is a CE-marked medical device, though it does not give a diagnosis and is not a substitute for emergency care. The app also includes a medical library of articles written by Ada's doctors. It is available in seven languages: English, German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili and Romanian.

Ada is free on iPhone and Android. Ada Health also licenses its symptom assessment to health systems, insurers and other partners as an enterprise product.
