Acti

Acti replaces the stock keyboard on iOS and Android with an agent that runs inside any text field. Instead of leaving a conversation to look something up, you type your intent, hold the Acti Bar where the space bar used to be, and the answer, link, or completed action is inserted where your cursor already is.

How it works

The keyboard is organised around two primitives. The Acti Bar is the general-purpose trigger: type "dinner near me that is still open", hold, and Acti resolves it. Skill Keys bind a specific workflow to a single key, so holding it pulls a Notion doc, a LinkedIn profile, a Meet link, a calendar action, or a live sports schedule straight into the message you are writing.

Skills are not a fixed menu. The Skill Builder lets you describe a workflow in plain language and wire it to the apps and APIs it needs, then reuse it from any keyboard anywhere on the phone. Finished skills can be published to the Acti community, and prebuilt "arsenals" group them into role-shaped sets for people who want a starting point rather than a blank canvas.

Why the keyboard is the interesting surface

Most mobile AI assistants are a destination — you switch apps, ask, copy, switch back. Acti's argument is that the keyboard is already open in every app that matters, occupies roughly a third of the screen, and is the one place where intent is expressed as text. Putting the agent there removes the round trip entirely, which matters most in messaging, where the cost of leaving the thread is highest.

Acti is published by TypeX Limited, is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, requires iOS 17 or later on Apple devices, and has been selected for Google's AI Startups program.
