Summary

Describe any machine in one line and Claude builds an interactive, physics-based 3D simulation in one HTML file, plus a film.

Features

  • One-line prompt to a self-contained interactive HTML simulation
  • Real dimensions, PBR materials and a per-machine physics solver
  • Explode, cutaway, x-ray, slow motion and computed failure modes
  • Deterministic recorder for a 28-second film with music

# Machine Skill

An open-source Claude Code skill. Run `/machine <one-line description>` and Claude researches the machine, models its parts and physics, and writes one interactive HTML simulation.

## Install

```bash
npx skills add AirsupHQ/machine-skill -g -a claude-code
```

## Use

```text
/machine a mechanical watch movement, the escapement ticking
```

Open the generated `watch.html`: drag to orbit, explode, cut away, x-ray, slow motion, or break a part.

## Film it

```bash
node ~/.claude/skills/machine/scripts/record.mjs watch.html out/watch.mp4
```

Requires Node 18+, Playwright and ffmpeg. Full skill definition: https://github.com/AirsupHQ/machine-skill

Then in Claude Code: /machine a turbofan jet engine.

Description

Machine Skill is an open-source Claude Code skill that turns a one-line description such as "a mechanical watch movement" into a single self-contained HTML page you can open from disk. Claude researches the real machine, records its true dimensions and the physics that drive it, then builds the parts with physically based materials, studio lighting and a small solver per machine, whether that is a Brayton cycle, a rocket nozzle or a pump curve.

In the viewer you can drag to orbit, explode the assembly, cut it open, switch to x-ray, slow time down, read live labels and trigger a computed failure. A bundled recorder script produces a deterministic 28-second film with a music bed, so the same model doubles as social content. The gallery includes a turbofan, a rocket engine, a refinery pump and a multistage compressor.

Install it with npx skills add AirsupHQ/machine-skill -g -a claude-code and run /machine in Claude Code. Filming needs Node 18+, Playwright and ffmpeg. Free and MIT licensed.
