ZoomMate

What it is

ZoomMate is Zoom's AI assistant, which it calls an "AI teammate". It searches your meetings, chats, documents and connected apps, then carries out tasks for you. Zoom retired the "AI Companion" name in June 2026, and the old zoom.us/ai-companion address now leads to the ZoomMate page. The built-in features that used to carry the AI Companion label, such as meeting summaries, chat compose and email drafting, are now simply called Zoom AI features. They remain included in paid Zoom Workplace plans. ZoomMate is the paid layer on top, sold as an add-on or as a standalone subscription.

Key features

• Meeting notes and summaries. My Notes captures meetings on Zoom, in person, on mobile and on other meeting platforms. You can define your own summary formats.
• Task delegation. Ask ZoomMate to build an agenda, draft follow-ups, generate a document or slide deck, or do research.
• Agentic search. Searches the web, Zoom content (transcripts, chats, docs) and connected apps such as Salesforce, Jira, Google Drive and OneDrive.
• Agents. Use pre-built agents (for sales, IT, marketing, finance and other teams) or build your own with instructions, knowledge sources and app connectors. Agents can be chatted with directly or @mentioned in Zoom Chat channels.
• Workflows. Start from templates (status reports, meeting follow-ups, approvals) or describe a workflow in plain language. Workflows can run on events, schedules or messages.
• AI productivity suite. Zoom Slides, Sheets, Paper and Canvas turn meetings and notes into decks, spreadsheets, Word-ready documents and shared workspaces.
• Voice Translator. Live audio translation in meetings, on paid ZoomMate plans.

ZoomMate runs in a web browser or in a tab of the Zoom Workplace app, which is available on desktop, iOS and Android.

Who it's for

Teams that already meet and chat in Zoom Workplace and want the follow-up work automated: CRM updates, recap emails, status decks and meeting prep. The free tier is enough to try summaries and notes on a few meetings a month.

Pricing

As listed on Zoom's ZoomMate page in October 2026:

• ZoomMate Basic (free, with a free Zoom Workplace Basic account): meeting summaries and in-meeting questions for 3 hosted meetings a month, My Notes 3 times a month, 20 AI queries a month, agentic search over 10 files and 3 meetings, and 10 workflow runs a month inside Zoom apps.
• ZoomMate (paid): includes 2,200 AI credits per user per month, unlimited AI note-taking, custom summary templates, the custom agent builder, deep research, workflows with third-party apps, the Slides/Sheets/Paper/Canvas suite and Voice Translator. Zoom says plans start at $20 per user per month. It can be billed monthly or annually.

Zoom AI features are included in paid Zoom Workplace plans, with some usage limits.
