Summary

Local-first Rust MCP server that maps your repo into a code graph and project memory, then hands coding agents cited file-and-line excerpts.

Features

  • Tree-sitter code graph of files, functions, classes, calls and imports
  • Project memory from docs, decisions and past agent sessions
  • Cited file-and-line excerpts within a token budget
  • Runs locally with no account, API key or telemetry
  • Optional pull-request impact and triage tools

Installation

Set up this MCP server in your favorite AI agent — copy a ready-made configuration below.

Any MCP-compatible agent

Most agents (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and more) read a standard mcpServers configuration.

  1. Open your agent's MCP configuration file.
  2. Merge the snippet below into it.
  3. Restart the agent — the "Graphicle" tools will be available.

Description

Graphicle is a single Rust program that indexes a repository into a code graph (files, functions, classes, calls and imports, parsed with tree-sitter and no model) and pairs it with searchable project memory: Markdown, PDF, Office and HTML docs, reviewed decisions and procedures, and past Claude Code and Codex sessions. Its MCP server returns the relevant code, docs and decisions as cited excerpts with exact files and lines, inside a token budget you set.

Why it is useful
  • Answers you can check. Every excerpt names its source, and memories an agent proposes wait for your approval before they are kept.
  • Graph tools for agents. The server exposes code-graph tools such as query_graph, get_neighbors and shortest_path alongside memory tools, and can optionally add pull-request tools (list_prs, get_pr_impact, triage_prs).
  • One install, one SQLite file. No Python, Docker or database server, and no API key, account or telemetry: your code leaves the machine only when you ask a model to write an answer.
Setup

Install with Homebrew (brew install graphicle-ai/tap/graphicle) or the install script, run graphicle setup inside a repository, and it connects the agent clients it finds (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Claude Desktop). graphicle disconnect undoes every change. macOS and Linux are supported, with a Windows preview build. Licensed Apache-2.0.
