Spellbook

Spellbook is a Microsoft Word add-in for contract work. It reviews a draft in the document where the lawyer is already working, which removes the copy-into-a-chat-window step that kills adoption of most legal AI tools.

What it does

• Review a contract and flag aggressive, missing, or non-standard terms, with reasoning and suggested revisions
• Redline directly in Word using tracked changes, so the output slots into normal practice
• Draft new clauses and full agreements from a description, matched to your firm's precedent style
• Benchmark terms against market standard so you can tell a client whether an ask is unusual
• Playbooks encode a firm's or client's negotiating positions, so review applies the right standard automatically
• Associate handles longer multi-step tasks — summarising a deal, comparing versions, preparing an issues list
