Description
Opera Neon is the agentic member of Opera's browser family, built for people who use AI throughout the working day. Instead of a chat panel bolted onto ordinary tabs, it organises work into Tasks: self-contained workspaces where the AI only sees the pages and sources that belong to that job, so it can compare and act across them without reading the rest of your browsing.
Inside a Task, Neon Chat answers questions about the open pages, while Neon Do carries out steps on the web for you, such as finding and opening relevant pages or working through a multi-step errand. Separate agents handle deep research and document generation, and reusable prompt Cards let you save and repeat a workflow. Neon also gives outside agents somewhere real to work: you can connect your own agents to the browser through MCP or the Opera CLI.
Underneath, it is still a full Opera browser, with tab management, snapshots, sidebar messengers, a built-in ad blocker and Opera's free VPN, none of which need a subscription. The agentic features and access to frontier models are unlocked by a Neon subscription, listed at $19.90 per month. Opera first shipped Neon on 30 September 2025 to members of its waitlist-based Founders programme.
