Summary

Local, 24/7 screen and audio recorder that turns your work into searchable memory for AI agents.

Description

Screenpipe (YC S26) turns a desktop into a personal, local-first record of everything you've seen, said, and heard, then makes that history usable by AI agents. It runs continuously in the background, capturing your screen and audio and storing it in a local SQLite database, with nothing sent to the cloud by default.

The core idea is turning repeated work into reusable automation: when Screenpipe notices you performing the same multi-step task, it writes down the steps as a standard operating procedure that your agents can later execute on their own. That searchable memory is exposed to AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, and Cline, and to chat assistants like ChatGPT and Claude Desktop via MCP, plus 100+ other apps and agent frameworks, so agents can answer questions about what you actually did instead of only what you typed into them.

Screenpipe is open source and available for Mac, Windows, and Linux, with a free personal tier and paid team plans that add central configuration, shared automations, and admin controls for organizations rolling it out beyond a single user.
