Description
The official Mailgun MCP server gives an AI agent a workflow-oriented interface to the Mailgun email API. Beyond sending messages, it can check domain DNS and tracking settings, inspect bounces, complaints and unsubscribes, query sending analytics and logs, and manage webhooks, inbound routes, mailing lists and versioned templates.
It also exposes Mailgun's deliverability products: address validation before you send, inbox-placement seed test results, and email rendering previews across clients. Tools are generated from a bundled OpenAPI spec and tagged by product, so you can register only the subset a workflow needs.
Good to know
- Runs locally over stdio (
npx -y @mailgun/mcp-server); Mailgun does not offer a hosted version. - Requires Node.js 20.12+ and a Mailgun API key; set
MAILGUN_API_REGION=eufor EU-hosted accounts. - Read and update operations only: no delete tools are exposed, which limits the damage of a mistaken call.
- Apache-2.0 licensed.
