Description
The Kagi MCP server connects an agent to Kagi's paid, ad-free search engine through the Kagi API. It exposes two tools: kagi_search_fetch for web, news, video, podcast and image search with optional page extracts, filters and Kagi lenses, and kagi_extract for pulling a page's full content as clean markdown.
You can use Kagi's hosted endpoint at https://mcp.kagi.com/mcp with an API key as a Bearer token, run it locally with uvx kagimcp, or self-host the HTTP server. Environment variables control timeouts and retries, and KAGI_HIDDEN_PARAMS lets you hide search parameters from the model to keep the tool schema small.
Good to know
- Needs a Kagi API key (
KAGI_API_KEY); OAuth is not supported yet. - The earlier FastGPT and summarizer tools were removed and are planned to return.
- MIT licensed; local install needs
uv.
