skillbay
Summary
Human-curated marketplace for Claude agent skills, with free and paid SKILL.md packages reachable from the web, an MCP server, a CLI and a JSON API.
Description
skillbay is a marketplace for agent skills — the SKILL.md packages an AI agent loads on demand to become a specialist at something — with a human reading every submission before it goes up.
What is being sold
A listing is a downloadable package built around a SKILL.md file, installed by unzipping it into the agent's skills directory. Listings are organised into twelve categories including coding and dev tools, writing and editing, content creation, and research and analysis. Some are free and download immediately; paid ones go through Stripe checkout and then unlock on the skill page and in the buyer's account. Digital goods are final sale unless the package is broken or misrepresented.
Curation is the product
Anyone can post a skill without first creating an account, but submissions are ranked by evidence rather than by description. What counts most is a worked example of the same prompt answered without the skill and then with it; credentials in the specialty come second, and the quality of the package itself third. Sellers who clear that bar are invited to set up a seller account and connect Stripe for payouts. In a category where most skill collections are unreviewed repository dumps, that editorial pass is the distinguishing feature.
Beyond the website
The catalogue is reachable four ways: the web interface, an MCP server, a CLI, and a JSON API at /api/v1 — so an agent can search and pull a skill without a person browsing for it. A "wanted" section runs the other direction, letting buyers post the capability they need so an author can build it.
