Ludo.ai

What it is

Ludo.ai is a browser-based AI toolkit made specifically for game developers. It generates the assets a game needs (animated sprite sheets, 2D art, 3D models, audio and short videos) and also helps with the design side, from brainstorming game ideas to structuring a game concept. Output is aimed at being dropped straight into an engine: sprite sheets export with JSON metadata, and 3D models export as GLB with PBR textures for Unity, Unreal or Godot. The same generators are available outside the web app through a CLI, an MCP server, a REST API and a Unity editor plugin.

Key features

• Sprite Generator: upload a character image or write a prompt, add a motion prompt such as "attack" or "walk", and get an animated sprite sheet back. Ludo lists 641 motion presets in 34 categories and animations up to 5 seconds, exported as PNG sheet, GIF, MP4, per-frame images or JSON metadata.
• Directional Sprites: builds a rigged 3D model of a described character and renders matching sprite sheets in up to 8 directions, so every view stays consistent.
• Image Generator: game-specific asset types (backgrounds and parallax layers, tilesets, seamless textures, item and app icons, UI elements, VFX sprites, portraits, card art) in 30+ preset art styles from 8-bit pixel art to stylized 3D, or matched to your own style references. A follow-up prompt edits an existing asset while keeping its style and pose.
• 3D Asset Generator: models from text or a single image, polycount from about 1k to 200k triangles, auto-rigging for humanoids and 640+ animation presets, with GLB/GLTF export.
• Audio and video: music (with optional vocals), sound effects, seamless ambient and SFX loops, designed and cloned character voices, and 5 to 15 second videos for gameplay mock-ups, cutscenes or animated portraits.
• Game design tools: Game Ideator for generating concepts from keywords, genres or existing titles, a Project workspace for building a game design document with an AI co-writer, and the Ask Ludo assistant.
• Developer access: the open-source Ludo CLI (MIT) and an MCP server let coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor generate assets. In October 2026 the CLI gained a free, offline toolbox of 32 commands that slice and pack sprite sheets, set pivots and colliders, and export engine files for Unity, Godot and Phaser.

Who it's for

Indie and solo developers who need art and audio without a full art team, plus small studios that want a consistent asset pipeline across many characters and scenes. Most of the games in its case studies are 2D titles built by one- or few-person teams.

As listed on Ludo.ai's pricing page in October 2026, in US dollars:

• Free Trial: 30 credits, one project, no credit card required.
• Indie: $20/month, or $180/year billed annually ($15/month); 3,000 credits a year on the annual plan, 5 active projects, one concurrent generation job.
• Pro: $50/month, or $420/year ($35/month); 12,000 credits a year on the annual plan, unlimited projects, unlimited in-app ideation, concept and image generation, two concurrent jobs, and API, MCP and CLI access.
• Studio: $350/month, or $3,600/year ($300/month); 120,000 credits a year on the annual plan, 10 seats and real-time collaboration.
• Enterprise: custom pricing.

3D, video, animation and audio always use credits, as does every API, MCP or CLI call. Extra credit packs start at $15 for 250 credits.
