Description

What it is

Zapier is a no-code automation platform that connects web apps through workflows called Zaps: a trigger in one app (a new form response, a new ticket) starts a chain of actions in others. The company now positions it as a place to connect AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor to the business apps they need to act on. The company says it supports more than 9,000 apps and over 66,000 triggers and actions, and handles authentication, retries and rate limits for them.

Key features
  • AI steps in Zaps: AI by Zapier and AI fields add steps that extract data, generate content or analyse information inside an otherwise fixed workflow, so AI handles one judgment call and ordinary steps do the rest.
  • Copilot: describe an automation in plain language and Copilot drafts the Zap in the editor or in Canvas.
  • Zapier MCP: a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants and coding agents run actions in connected apps without custom integration code. MCP calls draw on the same task allowance as Zaps.
  • Zapier Agents and Chatbots: build AI agents that work across your apps with company knowledge, and customer-facing chatbots. Both are separate add-ons with their own allowances.
  • Tables, Forms and Canvas: built-in data storage that Zaps can read and update, forms that trigger workflows, and a canvas for mapping processes.
  • Governance: AI guardrail steps that check for personal data, prompt injection and toxic content, policies on which model providers a team may use, and bring-your-own-model configuration.
Who it's for

Operations, sales, marketing, support and IT teams that want to automate work across SaaS tools without writing code, and teams that want their AI assistants to take real actions in those tools under admin control.

Pricing

Zapier charges by plan and by monthly task volume; each successful step in a Zap, and each MCP call, uses a task. As listed on the pricing page in October 2026:

  • Free: 100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps, Tables and Forms, and Copilot with a daily message limit.
  • Professional: from $19.99 a month billed annually ($29.99 billed monthly) for 750 tasks, adding multi-step Zaps, premium apps, webhooks and AI fields.
  • Team: from $69 a month billed annually ($103.50 monthly) for 2,000 tasks and up to 25 users, with shared Zaps, shared connections and SAML SSO.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing with unlimited users and advanced admin controls.

Agents and Chatbots are priced separately; their free tiers include 400 agent activities a month and two chatbots.
