Tines

Tines is a workflow-automation and AI-agent platform aimed at the problem most companies hit once AI adoption spreads past a pilot: dozens of teams building useful automations that nobody centrally can see, audit, or switch off. It combines a drag-and-drop workflow builder, a no-code internal-app builder, and AI agents that can act on those workflows — all inside one permissions and audit boundary.

What you actually build with it

• Workflows ("stories") on a visual canvas that chains HTTP requests, transforms, triggers and human approval steps across whatever tools you already run — no agents to install on the systems being automated.
• Internal apps with forms and dashboards, so the people who need an automation can run it themselves instead of filing a ticket.
• AI agents that reason over a workflow's data and propose or take actions. Tines describes this as "autonomous fixes, controlled by you": the agent surfaces the remediation, a human decides what actually goes live.

Why the governance angle matters

The platform is model-agnostic and deployment-agnostic — you choose which LLM is used, where it runs, and which data reaches it. Admins get an inventory of what has been built, by whom, and what each thing depends on, which is the part that ad-hoc scripts and one-off agent frameworks never provide. That framing is why it lands with regulated and security-conscious buyers; Tines cites Coinbase, Databricks, Reddit, Snowflake and Dropbox as customers.

Who it is for

Security operations teams are the historical core — alert triage, phishing response, enrichment and case management — but the current product is pitched horizontally at IT, finance, HR and general operations, with prebuilt templates per function.

Availability

Tines offers a free Community Edition alongside paid Professional and Enterprise plans, plus self-hosted and tenant-isolated deployment options for organisations that cannot send data to a shared cloud. Tines 3B, announced on 28 July 2026, is the current generation of the platform and is where the AI-governance capabilities described above were introduced.
