Recraft

What it is

Recraft is an AI image platform for designers and brand teams, and one of the few generators that outputs true vector graphics (editable SVG) as well as raster images. Its web app, Recraft Studio, combines Recraft's own models (V4.1 is the current generation) with third-party models, including Google's Nano Banana, OpenAI's GPT Image, Seedream and Flux. You pick a model per generation.

Key features

• Generation modes. Generate images, video, product mockups, image sets (several prompts at once with shared settings) and "exploration" batches of varied results. An agentic chat mode handles multi-turn requests and picks settings for you. Manual mode exposes model, style, aspect ratio and artistic level.
• Vectors and logos. Vector models generate icons, logos and illustrations as SVG. A vector editor and a raster-to-vector converter are built in.
• Custom styles and palettes. Upload reference images to create a reusable style, set brand colour palettes, and use custom fonts for text in images, so a series of assets stays consistent.
• Editing tools. Edit with natural language, refine details, erase regions, remove or replace backgrounds, upscale, inpaint and outpaint.
• Mockups. Place designs onto apparel, packaging, devices or outdoor ads, either from a template or a generated scene.
• Integrations. A Figma plugin generates raster images and editable SVG vectors on the canvas. iOS and Android apps sync projects and credits with the web. A hosted MCP server lets Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients generate and edit images using your subscription credits. A separate developer API, billed in prepaid API units, covers generation, vectorization, background removal and batch jobs.

Who it's for

Recraft suits graphic and brand designers, marketers and e-commerce sellers who need production-ready assets rather than one-off pictures: icon sets, logos, illustrations in a fixed style, and product mockups. Developers can build its models into their own tools through the API.

Pricing

As listed in Recraft's plan documentation in October 2026:

• Free: limited credits, up to three image uploads a day, and two images per prompt. Free-plan images are public, owned by Recraft, and not licensed for commercial use.
• Basic: $12 per month billed monthly, or $10 per month billed annually ($120 a year), for 1,000 credits a month.
• Pro: from $20 per month billed monthly, or $16 billed annually, for 2,000 credits. Higher credit tiers cost more.
• Teams: from $22 per month billed monthly, or $18 billed annually, adding shared styles, SSO and centralised management.

Paid plans make images private and grant full ownership and commercial rights, which you keep after cancelling. Monthly credits do not roll over. Top-up credits on paid plans never expire.
