Description
bitdrift is a mobile observability platform built around a problem server-side tooling never had to solve: on a phone you cannot ship a fix in five minutes, and you cannot afford to log everything to the network. Its Capture SDK for iOS and Android keeps a rich, unsampled log buffer on the device itself and streams only what is asked for, so an investigation can reach back into detail that a sampled pipeline would already have thrown away.
What you get
Capture feeds real-time log streaming, session replay, crash reporting, dashboards and alerting, plus Workflows for automated responses to conditions you define. REST and gRPC APIs are available for anything you want to drive programmatically.
bitdrift AI
In August 2026 the company shipped bitdrift AI, which exposes that full-fidelity stream to coding agents rather than only to dashboards. Agents can query what is actually happening on customer devices, target the relevant sessions, pull additional signal on their own and propose fixes — the company positions this as "agentic investigations" with AI acting as a first-line oncall, and reports early users seeing roughly a 10x improvement in mean time to resolution. Agent skills install through the standard flow with npx skills add bitdriftlabs/bd-skills. ThredUp, an early customer, says it now resolves a far larger share of minor customer-reported problems than it could before.
Provenance
bitdrift was founded by Peter Morelli (CEO) and Matt Klein (CTO) — Klein is the creator of Envoy — out of engineering work at Lyft, and raised a $15M Series A led by Amplify Partners.
Pricing
There is a genuine free tier: 5 users, 100,000 crash reports per month across unlimited devices, 50,000 monthly active applications, 14-day retention, 3 workflows and Slack alerting. Enterprise removes the caps, defaults retention to 180 days, and adds session replay, advanced performance monitoring, PagerDuty and custom SLOs, custom dimensions and integrations, SSO and role-based access control, and 24/7 support. Pricing scales on monthly active applications rather than log volume, with no overage fees.
